50 Faces of CEAP: Mary Linden

Mary Linden, a CEAP Meals on Wheels participant, joined the program about five years ago because she was looking for an easy way to eat a variety of meals. “I didn’t need such big meals, just single servings,” Mary says. “I’ve never really enjoyed cooking and Meals on Wheels eases that burden and helps me hit all the food groups for at least one meal a day.”

Mary’s mobility is limited due to hip pain, so Meals on Wheels is also a way for Mary to be social and stay connected with her community. She says, “The volunteers are really great. It’s just good to see people.”

Mary was a librarian before retiring and loves to read. Luckily, her neighborhood has a Little Free Library that’s a walkable distance for her! She’s also very well-traveled and has an extensive collection of books about birds from all around the world. Mary is very inspired by nature and is an accomplished artist; she’s even had paintings displayed in the Minnesota State Fair art show

CEAP Meals on Wheels is a vibrant community of neighbors with a wide variety of experiences. Thank you Mary for sharing your story – and your beautiful artwork - with us!
