CEAP Meals on Wheels And Northwest Suburban Dinner at Your Door are joining forces!

Greetings to the North Suburban Hennepin Community:

It is with great pride and excitement that I share with you all today that two beloved Meals on Wheels programs, Community Emergency Assistance Programs (CEAP) in Brooklyn Center and Northwest Suburban Dinner At Your Door (DAYD) in Crystal will be merging into one program as of July 1, 2020.

Both organizations have served seniors hot, nutritious meals and provided at-home connections with friends since the early 1970’s. What started as a labor of love for both organizations has grown to be an incredible undertaking to be charged with the care and nutrition of seniors throughout nine suburban cities. With the completion of this merger, Meals on Wheels – North Suburban Hennepin will be the 3rd largest Meals on Wheels provider in the state of Minnesota.

Through the process, volunteers will be supported, donors will be treasured, community partners will be celebrated and above all, the founders of Northwest Suburban Dinner At Your Door and the mission of Meals on Wheels will be honored.

If we’ve learned anything this year, through the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, it is that life is vulnerable and it takes every neighbor to make a community safe, loved and nourished.

The next few months provide an opportunity to extend a hand of friendship to our neighbors and build capacity in a program that provides nourishment to our seniors in body, mind and soul.

Thank you in advance for your support of our seniors and the merging of two community institutions.

In community,

Clare Brumback, President of Community Emergency Assistance Programs
