Our community is full of caring, creative neighbors who use their talents to support one another. In the last few months, we’ve seen dozens of individuals, corporations, and community groups raise a hand for their neighbors in original, innovative ways!
During challenging times, it’s the compassion and resourcefulness of our neighbors that bring light to the community.
That’s exactly what the CEAP Community Challenge is all about. Every March, we invite the CEAP community to support our neighbors by matching donations, volunteering, and hosting a food or fund drive – and our community doesn’t shy away from a challenge. This year, so many dedicated supporters have stepped up with heart, creativity, and a shared commitment to ensuring our neighbors are safe, loved, and nourished.
Here are three creative ways that the CEAP community has raised a hand this March to get food to families who need it most:
Showdown Displays:
- Showdown Displays is showing up for our community in a big way by hosting a company-wide food and fund drive. In a creative twist, they transformed their drive into a fun, game-style challenge, giving employees the chance to win prizes with each donation. According to CEO John Bruellman, the company “just wants to make a positive impact on our neighbors’ lives.” Showdown Displays is proof that doing so can be both meaningful and engaging.
Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion:
- Following the success of last year’s record-breaking event, our longtime partners at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion will once again host CEAP’s annual Fish Fry Fundraiser! Their continued commitment and enthusiasm not only helps this event grow each year, but also allows us to reach new audiences and invite even more neighbors into the CEAP community – all while enjoying a delicious meal together!
MIPLA/Merchant & Gould:
- When CEAP volunteer Sophia started stocking shelves in our Food Market last October, she had no idea that she would inspire her colleagues to get involved. This month, we welcomed Sophia and her team from MIPLA and Merchant & Gould for a volunteer shift in the Food Market – and they didn’t stop there. The group also took the initiative to host a fund drive for CEAP, rallying support across their networks. What began with one employee showing up to serve her neighbors has grown into a company-wide collaboration, attracting generous donors and first-time volunteers.
A huge thank you to these and other community partners for taking on the Challenge with such care and compassion. Your work helps us grow a stronger, safer, and more supportive community for all!
