Volunteer Spotlight – Ardis Fairchild
Spring Into Action like Ardis!
Ardis Fairchild was one of the six original CEAP Quilters that started in the Cross of Glory Church basement over 40 years ago. The group has since grown to over 50 ladies from 12 different churches in the community. The sewing machines, fabric and all of their time and effort is donated to support their community. This group of women raise money and donate thousands of quilts each year to CEAP’s Toys of Joy Holiday Program. The CEAP Quilters are more than just a volunteer group, they are longtime friends and a close knit family. “My favorite part of volunteering is the friends that I have made. We really take care of each other here.”
Ardis shared that through sickness, celebrations, death and joy – the quilters are there for each other. “This group has taught me to stick with something that I really love.” You can find this incredible group of women in the Cross of Glory Church every Monday except December and the summer months, making quilts, friendship and connections with the community.
