The reason for the season
It is typical to see a jump in demand here In Family Services at CEAP during the Holiday Season and this year is no exception. Our food appointment calendars in both locations are filling up rapidly every day. In addition, we are signing people up for CEAP’s annual holiday program, Toys of Joy, at our Brooklyn Center location. CEAP signs up 700 or more families every year to do some holiday shopping for their children the third week of December, as well as enjoy a holiday atmosphere of music, goodies and general good cheer while they are getting that help.
Another reason for good cheer is our short-term financial assistance program for people facing unstable housing in northwest Hennepin County is bustling as well. We’ve assisted 21 households to stay in their housing and prevent homelessness since the inception of the program back in August.
Our partnerships continue to produce much needed support for our neighbors in both Anoka County and Hennepin County. We partnered again with a number of churches to assist 145 households with holiday assistance of either meals and/or gifts.
Thanks again to our fantastic partners and volunteers for helping their neighbors this Holiday season!
