Meet Tom – from building stadiums to growing a stronger community!
Tom is one of CEAP’s jack of all trades – he delivers meals, prepares meals in our kitchen, and even fills in when our Meals on Wheels coordinator is out of the office. He recently celebrated his first anniversary of volunteering at CEAP, joining our team on a weekly basis after a long career with Mortenson Construction, where he worked on many of Minnesota’s stadiums (Target Field is his favorite.)
On what surprised him about CEAP’s Meals on Wheels program:
It’s all volunteers! Some of the people you meet here have been doing this for more than 10 years, and even more, I’m a youngster in this crowd!
What keeps him coming back:
I enjoy this. It’s what I need. I feel like I’m accomplishing something when I get up in the morning. From working here, I’ve learned anything can change in an instant. Some of the people who receive these meals were active community members just a few months ago, and now they need a little extra help.
Why Tom thinks you should get involved with CEAP:
There’s no reason why you can’t! There’s no question it will be very rewarding.
